Jen Telfer

Jen began playing indoor volleyball at Jasper Place High School and on Edmonton area club teams. Her summers were spent playing on Team Alberta, having the opportunity to compete at the Canada Summer Games in 2001. Jen moved on to play for Grande Prairie Regional College (ACAC Champions, CCAA silver) and then the U of A Pandas (Two time Canada West Champions, CIS Bronze and Silver), graduating with a BSc in Kinesiology. Professionally she played for Engelholms Volley in Sweden for 3 seasons (Swedish National Champion, Nordic Region Champion, and led the league in blocking).

Jen started her coaching career with Team Alberta where she had the opportunity to complete her NCCP Level 3 (now called Certified Performance Coach) and then went on to complete her Masters in Coaching at the U of A in 2009. Jen has been the Head Coach at King’s University College (2006-2007, ACAC Bronze), Assistant Coach with U of A Pandas (2007-2010), Alberta Winter Games Zone Coach (2014) and a coach with the Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence program (2011-2013). Most recently, she was an assistant coach with 18U Team Alberta at the 2017 Canada Summer Games (Silver medalist). Jen has been a Pandas Club coach since the club’s inception in 2010, with two 18U Provincial Championship teams (2012 and 2017), one 15U Provincial Championship (2018) and one 16U Provincial Championship (2019). When she is not coaching, Jen works full-time as the Wellness Supervisor at the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre in Spruce Grove.
